From Bugs to Bounties: Seek Triumph in the #TITHF2023 Bug Bounty Category

Updated: Oct 24, 2023

In the exhilarating realm of TechConnect Internal Talent Hackathon Festival 2023, the Bug Bounty category stands as a beacon for cybersecurity enthusiasts and ethical hackers alike. This category is a unique opportunity for participants to dive deep into software systems, uncover hidden vulnerabilities, and fortify digital fortresses against potential threats. In this article, we'll dissect the Bug Bounty category, providing you with comprehensive details about what it entails, the rules of engagement, and the rewards that await the intrepid hunters.

Bug Bounty is a specialized category within hackathons that focuses on identifying and reporting security vulnerabilities in 3 digital platforms, Nanovest, SIM Invest, and SIMAS LEAD. Unlike other categories that may revolve around creating new concepts (ideas generation), Bug Bounty involves a meticulous process of dissecting code, probing for weaknesses, and reporting findings to the respective organizations or platforms.

Here’s the mechanism of Ideas Generation category:

  1. TechConnect Talent Hackathon will take place offline for 1 day.

  2. Bug Bounty is a competition category in the form of searching for bugs/security loopholes in our product applications, where "hackers" who succeed in finding and going through the validation process will be given prizes.

  3. The focus area of this competition program is solely centered on developing new features, improving UI/UX, developing product backlog, App Security, API, etc. If you find any amazing ideas to make the platform better, don't hesitate to bring up your ideas!

  4. Participants are not allowed to hack their own products or must carry out cross-hacking between products

  5. This competition category is specifically for GROUPS with a maximum of 4 group members.

  6. If you don't have a group yet, the committee will help create a group with random members

  7. Every group member/participant is REQUIRED to register and confirm attendance for the offline hackathon event on the website https://talenthackathon.techconnect.co.id/. Notification confirming attendance will be sent via email during online registration.

  8. Participants MUST join the Telegram group (Group Link: https://t.me/CoTechbyTechConnect)

  9. All detailed information is listed on the website https://talenthackathon.techconnect.co.id/

  10. Registration closes on October 29, 2023, at 14.00 WIB.

  11. One group can only register for one competition category. If you want to register for more than one category, it is recommended to create a new group.

  12. There are 2 stages of selection, namely online and offline.

  13. Online selection is only made based on decks submitted to the website.

  14. Selected participants/groups will be contacted by the committee to create a prototype and final bug findings deck, which will be presented at the final presentation and awarding stage (offline) in November 2023

  15. Further information will be provided when participants have passed the final presentation and awarding stage.

In TechConnect Internal Talent Hackathon Festival 2023, the stage of competition consists of Online and Offline stages. Online stage will start from the sending of a detailed brief to all participants, Incubation and ask the expert, Pitch Deck Creations, followed by Project Submission. After participants submit their project, we will announce the finalists who make it into the Offline stage for The Final Demo Day and Awarding that will be held on November 29th 2023.

So gear up, sharpen your tools, and embark on a bug-hunting expedition that could lead to fame, fortune, and a more secure digital landscape.
